Nyala Motors Share Company was established in April 1973 in line with the Commercial Code of Ethiopia by five founding members with a registered capital of birr 50,000.
Nyala Motors had started the automotive business operation at its ever first facility located around the area commonly called Somalle Tera (inside the current compound of Paul Ries and Sons Ethiopia Ltd.) with the sales of Datsun automobiles and today it has become Exclusive Distributer in Ethiopia for world class brands representing: Nissan Motors Co. Ltd., UD Trucks Corporation, Eicher Motors Co. Ltd., Unicarrier Forklifts and Macpower Battery.
Nyala Motors Head Office facility is located in Addis Ababa along the Megenagna – Airport Ring Road which is easily accessible for customers. In addition to the Head Office facility in Addis Ababa, the company is operating in five branch offices in the major regional cities of the country,
namely Bahir Dar, Dire Dawa, Hawassa, Jimma and Mekelle which has enabled the company to be well represented for both sales and after sales throughout the country and Sub-dealers have been also assigned in selected areas, of the country as parts sales outlet.

Nyala Motors being the exclusive national dealer for world class brands it complies to the Government Commercial laws (regulations) and its principal suppliers’ requirements. In recognitions and appreciations of the Company’s transparent, accountable and performance attainment the Federal Government of Ethiopia (Customs Authority) and the Principal Suppliers of the Company (Nissan Motors, UD Trucks Corporation & EICHER Trucks) have been giving several awards to the company. Here it worth mentioning that Nyala Motors has received Platinum level Tax Payers Award for the last consecutive three years since 2019 and in addition a Trophy has been received from the hand of H.E President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Sahlework Zewde for being among 14 National Business Companies receiving Platinum level Tax Payers Award for the last consecutive four years.
